Yesterday was a long day! We were all up early with anticipation of our trip to the Create -n- Connect Conference and Trade Show, or for short CHAS. I don't know how successful they will be changing the name- CHAS jut flows better and is easier to say, so that is what I am sticking with, lol.
We left about 7:00 on Tuesday and after what seemed like the longest drive ever, with only one stop at the McDonald's on the train in Barstow, we arrived about noon. The show is very small, like we expected. There were a good number of people milling about the booths however, which was great.
We just spent a few moments in every booth and grabbed new catalogs. We will have more time to talk in the next couple of days as people leave and it gets slower. Today we will be going around with the good camera to take better photos, sitting down for make and takes, and I will be finalizing my "picks of the show."
So without further adieu...Day One in photos:
That's me in the back with all of our over packed luggage. Really, it's just three days.
This is the show's new branding. It looks great but I still call it CHAS- it's "old school."
First stop Simple Stories. Their new Sn@p product is so cute!
Great holiday projects too! I am partial to traditional Christmas colors!
Basic Grey had some cute display tables out front. Paper flowers in painted mason jars.
I really loved the new Project Life Cards from We R Memory Keepers and the price point is great too.
I met the owner of Piddix and she was just lovely! We traded product as she creates collage sheets that work with the one inch EC Tools. So if you are looking for images, especially artsy vintage ones, to use with the Shape Studio Square, Round 25, or Oval these are perfect! Be sure to check them out! She was even nice enough to give some to our DT and I will have a few left for our CHAS giveaway!
If you are a fan of washi tape- and who isn't? You will want to check out the designs from Little B. They have tape in a variety of sizes- the mini is the cutest! And of course, who can resist the big, one inch size!
The best part is each roll is self contained and includes it's own dispenser.
I am a sucker for all things Halloween but the display in the Pebbles both was way too adorable! I think that tree would make such a great centerpiece for any Halloween party!
I was obsessed with the cat silhouette in the Dear Lizzy booth. I am so hoping it is somewhere in her collection because I must have that cat!
After our quick walk around the show, we went over to the Bellagio and ate dinner. Their botanical garden is amazing. They had birds and snails made from flowers. It was a nice, relaxing end to a hectic day!
We were back at the hotel by 7, in our pajama's by 8, and in bed by 9. Not exactly "Vegas hours" but we need to be rested for the long days on the show floor. I hope you enjoyed this brief, show overview. I will have many more details on specific collections after today, including my "picks of the show."
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! Wish us luck out there!
