75 Days...But Who Is Counting....

Me! I'm counting! 75 days until Fall! My favorite season- boots, sweaters, pumpkins, all my favorite holidays....summer could be over tomorrow as far as I'm concerned. Except for the part about school being out- I love having Davis home. She's such a joy to be around. I'd homeschool her if I had the time or dedication. But I digress...this heathole I live in has gone to my brain. 

I found another reason to buy afghans...Candy loves them too!

See? Kitty needs more afghans!

I did get a few things from my thrift store marathon with Michelle cleaned up. I scored this set of Pyrex in brown- which isn't a color I normally collect, but I like it for Thanksgiving as it matches my rooster plates. And it was cheap.

I also picked up a harder to find blue Pyrex bowl for $5.00. It's the big one on top.

I love t.v. lamps from the 1950's. I collect them when I can find them cheap because usually working ones can be kind of pricey. If you don't remember t.v. lamps they were sold when homes starting purchasing their own t.v. sets. It was believed that watching t.v. in a darkened room could cause eye damage so the t.v. lamp was born. It was basically a fancy light that sat on your t.v. and they came in many shapes and sizes. 

I picked up this working one at the estate sale last weekend. And while we can't set a t.v. lamp on top of our flat screen, I think it looks good next to my paint by numbers.

We also got the artwork I bought for $15 for both up over our couch. This was another steal as I saw them online at $70 for one! Sorry, the pic is kind of hard to see. I apologize for the window blinds. When you rent, you don't get a choice of window coverings!

I picked up some clothes for my vintage wearing brother at the estate sale. Shirts for $2, pants $2, tie at SA $1. He won't wear them all together but he did send me this picture to show that everything fit perfectly! I think the shipping to WA was more than I paid for all the clothes!

How great is the shorty 1940's tie! 

Well, that is all I have done so far...wait until you see my thrift store coats! Only 75 more days until I can wear them! Tuesday is normally thrift day but I'm not sure I will make it down there this morning. We will see. I hope everyone has a fabulous Tuesday!
