Party Prep is in Full Swing!

Davis turns 13 on Monday and we are having her birthday party Sunday night. She is having a sleepover with six of her close friends and of course, she asked for a Minecraft themed party! I told her I wasn't going all overboard like I usually do since we just had her baptism party last month. Since this party is going to be pretty simple, I just started planning it this week. Unfortunately, there isn't any Minecraft themed party supplies to buy- how is that possible? So you are left to your imagination- thank goodness for Pinterest! And how lucky am I to be married to a graphic designer? Brian whipped up the food cards for me yesterday. All the food is based around items found in the game.

We designed them to print at 4 X 6 so you just need to send them to your photo printer and fold them in half. We saved all the files so if anyone needs them, let me know and I can share them with you!

The menus is:

Pork: Pulled Pork Sandwiches made in the crock-pot
Bread: Rolls for the pulled pork sandwiches
TNT: Red licorice
Water: Water bottles
Cake: Minecraft themed cake
Snowball: White chocolate covered grapes
Gold: Mini gold Hershey bars
Creeper Juice: Sprite/7-Up in the green bottles
Diamond: Rock candy
Torch: Bread sticks
Stick: Pretzel sticks
Slime: Green Kool-Aid
Cookie: Chocolate chip cookies
Carrot: Mini carrots with ranch
Melon: Watermelon
Coal: Black rice krispie treats in lumps

So the menu is fairly easy. I just need to get all of my bowls and trays together today. Hopefully, I have enough clear glass. I don't want to mess up the color scheme of black and green by throwing in silver.

Brian also made me the water bottle labels. They came out adorable.

My only challenge is creating this cake from a photo we found on Pinterest. It's the cake Davis picked out. I am pretty sure I can recreate it or it will turn into a huge Pinterest fail. Either way I am thinking of buying a back up cake!

Decorations are going to be pretty simple. Just a few of these guys. Made with streamers and balloons.

Then I am going to have a lot of these balloons. You just decorate regular green balloons with electrical tape to make the creepers.

So not only do I need to go shopping, get the food organized, and decorations bought, we are going to Davis' birthday lunch with my parents today in Huntington Beach. It looks like it is going to be a busy birthday weekend! More photos to come as we start the process. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
