So Davis and I had quite the adventure last night. As we were leaving to pick up Brian at the airport at 11:00pm we went out through the garage and as I opened the door Davis yells, "Mommy, is that real?" Of course, I have no idea what she is talking about so I look over my shoulder and right on the door frame I see the biggest spider I have ever seen in real life.
It's huge. Probably close to three inches with it's legs. Furry. Thick legged. Beady eyes. I had no idea what it was but it looked like a baby tarantula. It was too big to squish. I went and grabbed a plastic cup and was planning on "gently guiding" the monster into the cup for a catch and release. Killing it would have been like stomping on a small bird.
While I am trying to do this it keeps running back farther into the corner and I am trying to guide it along with the edge of a napkin. Davis is shrieking like a well...little girl. As I am trying to do this all of a sudden it takes a flying leap over my head and lands on the ground. Lucky sees it and runs into the garage on attack. And then, we forgot we set the house alarm when we originally left so the siren goes off. Me flailing with a cup, trying to grab the dog, alarm shrieking, Davis yelling and in the midst of all this chaos the itsy bitsy spider runs under a bunch of boxes never to be seen again. Hopefully.
Now I know that this nasty thing is still out there. Waiting. I was pretty sure it was a wolf spider when I first saw it. Harmless but ugly. And this one was fat and looking to prey on the innocent. Davis won't even go out in the garage anymore. Needless to say we were late for the airport.
I did clean up a few things from the garage yesterday and now I am creeped out that I could have accidentally brought this thing into the house. Ugh. If I saw a dog chomping away with the legs hanging out of it's mouth I just might pass out. But that's why we have animals- to keep the house bug free, right?
So yesterday, I cleaned up this record case I got at an estate sale to hold all of the Christmas records I have been collecting for my holiday project.
It has the date on the side. Now I just need a working record player!
I also wiped down the artwork we got at another sale. We are framing these for a collage wall in our bedroom. How adorable are these owls?
I had a lot to do yesterday but apparently these guys did not. No, you aren't seeing double. I have two.
That's my old man Tygrr in the front and the younger one we adopted, Candy, in the back. She is a wild cat who only loves Brian. She's a twenty pound plus beast that loves her food and not much else.
So today, while they sleep I will be headed to my mom and dad's to drop Davis off for art camp. I hope she has a great time. I will be in Vegas Tuesday through Thursday so Brian will be home alone. I expect to come home to empty bottles of Mt. Dew and pizza boxes. Bank on it.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday! Enjoy it!
