So last week we all headed up to Washington to visit, look at schools and neighborhoods in hopes of relocating this summer. We all absolutely loved the area. First of all, it is gorgeous- full of trees and it's so green. No more brown, ugly desert. The weather was season appropriate. It was about fifty degrees, not ninety like it is here. The towns we looked at were small, giving us the slower paced lifestyle we are craving. All in all it was a successful trip and I wish I was already back there!
On the first day we visited Rainier Christian High School. Their campus is at a Christian Retreat Center and I think it's the closest you could get to going to boarding school without spending the night. We absolutely loved their philosophy, their focus on academics, and the small school size. Their principal was amazing and spent so much time with us answering all of our questions. Did I mention the campus is beautiful?
The science class does experiments in the river that runs through campus. They have classes in Marine Biology and Zoology- perfect for Davis!
That night we were able to spend time at my brother's house. Davis got to see Ruby which was good because she passed away the day after we left. :( Ferrets are legal in Washington, but no, we will not be getting one!
The next day we braved the rain and visited the zoo. People in WA don't let the rain stop them. Here we would be hunkered down on "storm watch" with our emergency survival kit.
It was awesome for Davis to spend time with her cousin. Isn't he adorable? I can't even stand it! I just want to squeeze him.
It was pouring rain but Davis wouldn't let us leave until we found her favorite animal- the tapir.
We watched the hockey games at my brother's house which was super fun! Davis got more cousin time!
Davis was disappointed we didn't have any big foot sightings on this trip so we made it up to her at the airport.
Overall, it was a great trip! I wanted to go back as soon as the plane landed. We will go back in spring to find a place to live as we have already decided on the school. Hey, California...the Foggs are out!
